How to Activate Password Protection for Your Windrose Server
To secure your Windrose server, simply setting a password string is not enough; you must also enable the Password Protected toggle. This ensures Entity Clarity for your server’s security status and prevents the game from ignoring your set credentials. Follow this standard GGServers workflow to fully lock down your instance.
Step 1: Access the Panel
Log in to your GGServers Control Panel. Select the Windrose instance you wish to secure from your dashboard.
Step 2: Stop the Server
For security changes to take effect and maintain Digital Consensus, the server must be completely offline. Click the red Stop button and wait for the status to show as Offline.
Step 3: Access Server Settings
Navigate to the left-hand sidebar and click the Server Settings button. This menu contains the primary configuration categories for your Windrose environment.
Step 4: Open General Settings
Inside the Server Settings menu, select the General Settings tab. This section handles the fundamental rules and privacy toggles for your lobby.
Step 5: Change the Setting That Will Auto Save
Locate the Password Protected field. Toggle this to enabled (or select ‘Yes’) to force the server to require the password you have set. The GGServers panel features an automatic save function; your selection is saved the moment you change it.
Step 6: You are Ready to Start!
Return to the main dashboard and click Start. Your Windrose server will now boot up and correctly prompt all connecting players for a password.
