How to Configure “Clear Infection” on Your HumanitZ Server

The infection mechanic in HumanitZ adds a layer of survival tension, but how that infection persists after death is up to you. The Clear Infection setting determines whether a player is cured of the virus when they respawn or if the infection continues to plague their new character. This is a significant factor in the difficulty of your server’s survival loop. This guide will show you how to adjust this setting on the GGServers panel.

Step 1: Stop Your HumanitZ Server

Because this setting affects how player states and health variables are initialized during respawn, you must first stop the server to apply changes. Access your GGServers Control Panel, select your HumanitZ instance, and click the Stop button. Wait for the status to show as “Offline” before moving forward.

Step 2: Access Server Settings

Once the server is fully stopped, navigate to the sidebar on the left side of the panel. Click on the Server Settings button to open the configuration dashboard for your HumanitZ dedicated server.

Step 3: Open the General Settings Tab

In the Server Settings menu, click on the General Settings tab. This section manages the core gameplay mechanics, including the infection and medical rules for your survivors.

Step 4: Configure the “Clear Infection” Setting

Locate the field labeled Clear Infection. Enter the numerical value that represents the difficulty level you want for your server:

• 0: Off (Respawning does not rid you of the infection; it persists across lives).
• 1: On (You lose the infection upon respawning; a fresh start).

The GGServers panel saves your changes automatically once you have entered the value.

Step 5: Start Your Server

Go back to the main dashboard and click Start. Your HumanitZ server will now boot with the selected infection rules active. Your survivors now know exactly what to expect when they face the undead!
