Why Is My Microsoft Account Still Linked to a Deleted Account?
Minecraft on PS5 allows only one Microsoft account to be linked to your PSN account at a time. If the previously linked Microsoft account has been deleted, Minecraft may still attempt to connect to it. Unfortunately, the linking process is not easily transferable, and the connection remains tied to that deleted account.
To resolve this, you need to create a new PSN account and then link it to your Microsoft account.
How to Link a New Microsoft Account to Your PS5
1. Create a New PSN Account
- Go to your PS5 home screen.
- Navigate to Settings > Users and Accounts > Users > Add User.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to set up a new PSN account.
2. Launch Minecraft with the New PSN Account
Once you’ve created your new PSN account, open Minecraft on your PS5. Here’s what you’ll need to do:
- Sign in with your new PSN account.
- When you’re at the title screen, select the Sign in with a Microsoft account option.
- A unique code will appear on your screen.
3. Link Your New Microsoft Account
- On a browser, go to https://aka.ms/remoteconnect.
- Enter the code that appears on your PS5 screen.
- Sign in with your new Microsoft account (or create one if you don’t have it yet).
- Your Microsoft account will now be linked to your new PSN account.
Congratulations! You’re now able to play Minecraft with your new Microsoft account and access all your content.
Troubleshooting: What to Do if You Encounter Issues
- Code Expired: If the code expires before you can enter it, simply restart the process to get a new code.
- Still Linked to the Old Account: If your PS5 keeps trying to link to the deleted account, ensure that you’ve fully signed out of all Microsoft accounts and try linking again.
- Error Messages: Check your network connection and ensure that your PSN account is active.
