How to Access Your Minecraft Server Files Via FTP

This guide will show you how to properly access your server files via FTP.

To access your server files via FTP you can either use the Multicraft FTP WebClient, either use an FTP Client.

⚠ Important Notes ⚠

Using the Multicraft FTP WebClient you can upload/ download only files smaller than 512 MB. For files bigger than that you will have to use an FTP Client.

Note that we provide full access to the server files for any of our clients so you can install whatever you need manually!

The Multicraft FTP WebClient is usually used to rapidly edit text files in your server, like change config files for plugins or mods, not for actual upload/ download. For uploading/ downloading files from your server, we suggest you use anytime an FTP Client as it has no size limit for files and also more features!

The Pterodactyl FTP WebClient

To access your server files using the Multicraft FTP WebClient you need to:

  1. Log into your Pterodactyl Control Panel here.

  1. Click on Files.

After doing so, your files will appear in a web-oriented FTP client.

NOTE: Using the Multicraft FTP Webclient only allows you to upload/ download files of 512 MB or smaller. If you want to upload files larger than the mentioned limit, you will have to use an FTP client.

What Is an FTP Client and How to Use It

An FTP client is a separate application that you use just to connect to your server and upload/ download files.

NOTE: The FTP Client has no upload limit for the size of the files, and it is also better implemented than the Multicraft FTP WebClient. We recommend you use anytime an FTP Client for upload/ download files.

You can use any FTP client you want, but we recommend FileZilla as it free and as it is providing good quality.
