A colorful, energetic Minecraft world packed with characters building, mining, and battling, captured in a charming vintage art style with a wood-framed border.
Minecraft has always been about pushing limits. And now, thanks to a groundbreaking project, it is taking things even further. Imagine sharing your latest megabase or diving into massive Nether battles with not just your close friends… but with up to 100,000 players at the same time!
Yes, you read that right — one hundred thousand players, together, in a single Minecraft world. And the best part? If you’re hosting with GGServers, you do not even need complicated mods. You just need enough RAM, adjust your max players setting, and you’re ready to host a server capable of welcoming everyone. Remember to use the code BLOG30 at checkout to save 30% on your server!
Traditionally, Minecraft servers have limits on how many players they can handle. Vanilla servers usually cap out at a few dozen, maybe hundreds if optimized. But a new tech demo, developed by the game technology company Meta Gravity, is smashing that ceiling wide open.
They introduced something called Quark, a next-generation network engine that dramatically changes how multiplayer works. Instead of your server handling every single movement, combat action, or chunk load alone, Quark spreads the workload across every connected player’s computer.
“Minecraft normally runs everything on the server,” explained Meta Gravity’s lead engineer, Mihail Makei. “We rewrote the networking layer from scratch. Now, when you join, your PC helps power the world itself.”
Using this system, Meta Gravity stress-tested a Minecraft world packed with 100,000 players.
Now, here’s something important to know: during these tests, Meta Gravity did not have 100,000 real players. Instead, they created a huge network of AI bots. These bots behaved just like normal players: they walked around, built structures, mined, fought mobs, and explored the world — all behaving exactly like a living, breathing community.
This smart testing method proved that the system can handle massive, active populations without instantly crashing or lagging out. Even with 5,000 players visible on your screen at once, performance stayed playable, maintaining framerates between 20 to 60 FPS depending on hardware.
If you cannot wait for Quark or Meta Gravity’s future public mod release, don’t worry. With GGServers, you can already push your server limits by simply upgrading your server’s memory. There’s no need for a special mod — just increase your allocated RAM, tweak your maximum players setting, and invite the entire squad.

Meta Gravity announced that the final public release of their mod will support even more features like:
They also plan public playtests soon, so Minecraft fans should definitely stay tuned.
I have probably written reviews before and I will probably do it each time I have noteworthy experiences with ggservers Read More For context I have ordered servers from this provider multiple times across several years While pricing changes due to general pricing changes across the market and availability of services changes according to what they can make available the one thing that has NEVER changed in my experience is their customer support I primarily order modded servers specifically with modpacks I create myself Not only is it great they allow people to host their own modpacks but they provide expert insight and support to assist their clients in making the packs run well and quickly work to solve any issues that arise And when one makes use of custom modpacks issues are frequent And yet ggservers is there to help you make it work support every time
