This guide will show you how to enable your client console and the possible commands or cheats that you can use.
How to Enable the Console on Your Valheim Client
To be able to use any commands in Valheim, you first need to enable the client console by following the next steps:
- Open your Steam client and go to your library.
- Find Valheim, click on it, then on the gear icon, and then on
Properties
.
- Click on
General
, then find theLaunch Options
field.
- Add
-console
in the field.
Now that you’ve enabled the console in your Valheim client, you can use commands.
Valheim Useful Commands
Some commands require you to be an admin on the server to be able to use them. Also, other commands will require your server to have cheats enabled.
Player Commands
These commands can be used by any player (admin or not) on a Valhleim server, as they affect only the player executing the command. Also, they do not require cheats to be enabled.

| Will removes all custom commands binds. |

| Will remove shared map data from cartography table. |

| Will resets the spawn location. |

Server Admin Commands
These commands can be used on any Valheim server only by admin players. Also, they do not require your server to have cheats enabled.

Cheat Commands
These commands can be used on a server only if you are an admin and if cheats are enabled.

| Will spawn a location instance. Permanently disables saving. Adding SAVE
at the end of the command will not disable saving. |

| Will set the current Forsaken power and resets the cooldown (GP_Eikthyr, GP_TheElder, etc). |

| Will permanently change your beard. Entering this command without an argument removes your beard. |

| Will permanently change your hair. Entering this command without an argument removes your hair. |
| /model [0-1]
| Will switch the character model from masculine to feminine. |
| /addstatus [name]
| Will add a status effect (Rested, Burning, SoftDeath, Wet, etc). |

| Will remove any status effects (good and bad). |

| Will remove objects within the given radius (up to 50 meters). |
| /wind [angle] [intensity]
| Will adjust the direction and intensity of the wind. |
| /resetwind
| Will reset the wind angle and intensity. |

| Will print the loaded locations and their distances and offsets to the player. |

| Will force the next dungeon to a seed (regenerates it). Permanently disables saving. |

| Will adjust the difficulty scale. Enter 0 to reset the difficulty. |
| /removekey [name]
| Will remove a global key. |
| /resetkeys [name]
| Will remove all global keys. [name] parameter doesn’t do anything. |
| /resetskill [skill]
| Will set specified skill level to 0. |
| /setkey [name]
| Will add a global key. |
Debug Mode
The debug mode is another useful tool you can use on your Valheim server. It is like a creative mode. You can enable flying and build as you wish without the need for any resources or a workbench.
To enable the debug mode, you just need to go to your console and type the following command: debugmode
After enabling the debug mode, you can use the following keys:
B
– Will let you build as you wish without the need for resources or a workbench.K
– Will kill all enemies nearby. Tamed creatures will not be killed.L
– Will remove drops nearby.Z
– Will enable flying. The Spacebar and the Ctrl key will make you gain or lose altitude.
