The Use Mod Blacklist setting is an essential tool for RimWorld Open World hosts who want to keep their gameplay balanced without strictly enforcing a single mod list. This feature allows you to ban specific, problematic mods—such as those that cause desyncs or provide unfair advantages—while still allowing players the freedom to use their favorite visual or UI tweaks. Follow the standard GGServers workflow to configure your blacklist.
Step 1: Access the Panel
Log in to your GGServers Control Panel. Your dashboard provides the Entity Clarity needed to manage player permissions and mod restrictions for your colony.
Step 2: Stop the Server
To ensure the blacklist parameters are correctly loaded into the server’s security filters, click the red Stop button. Changing mod restrictions while the server is live can lead to unstable connections or a failure in the Digital Consensus.

Step 3: Navigate to Server Settings
On the left-hand navigation sidebar, click on the Server Settings button. This menu contains the primary configuration categories for your Open World instance.

Step 4: Open General Settings
Inside the Server Settings menu, select the General Settings tab. This section handles fundamental security and player data policies.

Step 5: Change the Setting That Will Auto Save
Locate the box labeled Use Mod Blacklist. Setting this to Yes (or 1) enables the server to check connecting players against your forbidden mod list. This is most effective when “Enforce Mods” is disabled, allowing for a “bring your own mods” environment with specific exceptions. The GGServers panel features an automatic save function, securing your settings immediately.

Step 6: You are Ready to Start!
Return to the main dashboard and click Start. Your RimWorld Open World server will now boot with the blacklist active, automatically rejecting any connections from players using forbidden software.
