If your Rust server hosted by GGServers isn’t showing up on Rust’s Community or Modded server lists, this guide will walk you through common reasons and solutions.
π Common Reasons Your Rust Server Might Not Be Showing:
- Server is Outdated
- Oxide/uMod is Outdated
- Plugins or Mods Need Updating
- Server Name Issues
- Steam Cache Issues
- Server Visibility Delay
- Dedicated IP Requirements (for Older Customers)
π οΈ How to Fix Your Rust Server Visibility:
1. β Update Your Rust Server
Your server must be running the latest Rust version to appear on server lists.
Solution:
- Log into your GGServers Control Panel.
- Restart your server.
- This will automatically update your Rust Server to the latest version available.
2. Update Oxide/uMod
If you’re using Oxide/uMod, updates are mandatory with every Rust update.
- Restart your server to automatically update Oxide.
- Oxide updates are usually released a few hours after Rust updates. Wait if necessary.
3. Update Mods or Plugins
Make sure any plugins or mods are compatible with the latest Rust version:
- Access your server’s files through the Files section.
- Update or remove outdated plugins from the
/oxide/plugins
directory.
3. Server Name Issues
Long or unusual server names can prevent your server from appearing:
- Shorten your server’s name.
- Remove special characters, leaving only letters, numbers, and spaces.
Example of a Good Server Name:GGServers Rust 2x Vanilla
4. Clear Steam Cache
Steam cache issues can prevent visibility:
- Navigate to Files in your control panel.
- Go to the
Steam
directory and delete: appcache
folderconfig
folder- Restart your server afterwards.
4. Dedicated IP Requirement (Servers created before February 2023)
Rust now requires dedicated IP addresses for servers to appear publicly.
- If your server was created before February 2023, a dedicated IP may be required.
- Submit a Support Ticket to request assistance with this.
β³ Wait Several Minutes
Servers can take up to 15 minutes to appear in Rustβs server lists due to Rust’s load limits (max 5000 servers).
π― If You Still Can’t See Your Server, Do This:
- Open Steam, click View β Servers.
- Navigate to the Favorites tab.
- Click Add a Server and enter your server’s IP address.
- Your server should now appear in Rust under the Favorites tab.
π§ If None of These Steps Work:
- Submit a ticket to our Support Team and request a new Rust IP. A fresh IP often solves visibility problems.
