This guide will explain more about securing your Multicraft roles and panel.
As a server owner you want your Multicraft panel as secure as possible so no changes are made to your server by anyone besides you.
The Multicraft panel is not something that should be accessed by users or players. Just by the owner of the server and its administrators.
When you do this, the account will get permissions according to the role you assign.
️ Multicraft Roles ️
Multicraft roles are a feature that affects only the Multicraft panel, so changing the role for a user on the panel will affect only the interaction of that user with the panel itself.
Before setting a role to a user, you need to first know what each of them will be doing:
No Access
Cannot view the server status or access any feature.
Guest
Can see basic information about a server, like if it is up and running or not and the number of players.
User
Can use the chat, view available commands and use certain chat functionalities if enabled by the server owner.
Moderator
Can start or stop the server and use /admin say
command.
Can see the full server console, summon, kick or teleport players.
Can also use the /give
command and download backups.
Administrator
Has full control over all server functions such as player management and config files editing.
Co-Owner
Has full control over all server functions and can also assign FTP access to other users.
Owner
Has full control over the server and can also assign Co-Owner
role to other users.
Securing Your Multicraft Panel
To be sure you are securing properly your Multicraft panel you will have to change some settings regarding the default role and server visibility.
Changing the Default Role
If your server is not public, we suggest you set the following on your main Multicraft page:
Default Role: No Access
IP Auth Role: User
For example, if you set the Default Role
to Moderator
, any other person with a Multicraft account that has your Multicraft server link can access the server and type commands in the console that will take effect in-game, like kicking players.
The
Default Role
decides what kind of permissions you are giving to users that have no explicit permissions assigned to them for your servers
As such it can be dangerous to leave the Default Role
anything than No Access
.
To do so, you need to:
- Log in to your Multicraft panel here.
- Click on
Show Permissions
.
- Set the
Default Role:
toNo Access
.
- Set the
IP Auth Role:
toUser
.
- Click on
Save
.
Changing the Server Visibility
If the owner does not want anyone to be able to view the server on Multicraft or any of the details above, they can set Server Visibility
to Owner Only
.
To do so, you need to:
- Log in to your Multicraft panel here.
- Click on
Show Permissions
.
- Set the
Server Visibility
toOwner Only
.
You can also set it to other options, depending on your needs.
- Click on
Save
.
