In the ruthless world of DayZ, where survival is never guaranteed and threats come from both infected and fellow survivors, adding a password to your server ensures only trusted players can access your game. By securing your server, you keep out griefers and strangers and create a safer, more controlled environment for your group.
Securing Your Server with a Password
You can enable password protection by editing the serverDZ.cfg
configuration file or via the “Server Settings” tab from the left-hand side menu of your panel.
1: Go to your control panel and STOP the server.
2: Head into the Server Settings section.
3: Search for “pass” in the list.

4: Locate the line that says SERVER PASSWORD
and input your chosen password inside the box.
5: Press ENTER on your keyboard to save your changes and start the server
That’s it! Your server is now locked behind a password. Only those who know the key can enter, keeping your DayZ experience private and secure.
