If you want to enhance your American Truck Simulator (ATS) experience with custom mods, the process is simple when you know the steps. This guide walks you through installing mods on your ATS server, ensuring your friends or players enjoy a fully customized trucking world. Hosting your ATS server with GGServers guarantees reliability, high performance, and easy mod management. Use code KB30 for 30% off your first server!

Step 1: Launch American Truck Simulator

Start ATS on your PC. Make sure the game is updated to the latest version to avoid mod conflicts.

Step 2: Access Mod Manager

From the main menu, click “Mod Manager”. This is where you’ll enable the mods you want to use on your server.

Step 3: Enable Your Mods

Activate the mods you want to run on your server. Only the mods you enable here will be uploaded to your server.

Step 4: Enter the Game World

Start a game and click “Drive” to load into the game world. This is necessary to export your selected mods.

Step 5: Open the Game Console

Press ~ or ` (usually under the Escape key) to open the developer console.

Step 6: Export Server Packages

Type the following command in the console:

export_server_packages

This generates the files required for your server.

Step 7: Locate the Exported Files

On your PC, navigate to the Data folder:

%USERPROFILE%\Documents\American Truck Simulator\Data

Tip: %USERPROFILE% usually maps to C:\Users\YourUsername\.

Inside this folder, you’ll find:

  • server_packages.sli
  • server_packages.dat

Step 8: Upload Files to Your Server

Log in to your GGServers game panel at https://panel.ggservers.com or use an FTP client to access:

ATS_Server\American Truck Simulator\

Upload the files from Step 7 into this folder.

Step 9: Start Your Server

Once the files are uploaded, start your ATS server. Your mods are now active, and players joining your server will experience the same mods you configured.
