How to Change the Server Name on Your OpenRCT2 Server
Your server name is the first thing potential players see when browsing the master list. A unique and descriptive name helps your park stand out and tells players exactly what kind of experience to expect, whether it’s a “Free Build” zone or a “Hardcore Scenarios” challenge. On the GGServers panel, updating your server’s identity is quick and easy. Follow the steps below to change your server name.
Step 1: Access the Panel
Log in to your GGServers Control Panel and select your OpenRCT2 server. This dashboard is where you manage your server’s public identity and branding.
Step 2: Stop Your Server
To ensure the new name is correctly broadcasted to the master server list, you must first stop the server. Click the red Stop button on the main console. Wait for the status to show as “Offline” before proceeding to the settings menu.

Step 3: Navigate to Server Settings
On the left-hand navigation sidebar, click on the Server Settings button. This area contains all the core technical configurations for your OpenRCT2 instance.

Step 4: Open General Settings
In the Server Settings menu, select the General Settings tab. This section manages the fundamental information for your server, including its display name and connection rules.

Step 5: Change the “Server Name” Setting
Locate the box labeled Server Name. Enter the new name you want to appear in the OpenRCT2 server list. The GGServers panel features an automatic save function, so your new name will be stored as soon as you finish typing in the box.

Step 6: That is it!
Your server’s identity has been updated! Return to the main dashboard and click Start. Your OpenRCT2 server will now appear with its new name in the game’s multiplayer browser.
