# How to Transfer a Google Domain’s domain to Squarespace

This guide will show you how you can transfer you Google Domain’s Domain to Squarespace.

## ️ Sign In to Google
1. Open a new window on your browser.
2. Visit Google Domains and click on **Sign In**.
3. Find the domain you wish to move by clicking on **My domains**.

## Make Sure Your Domain Isn’t Locked
For the transfer, your domain needs to be unlocked:
1. Click **Registration settings**.
2. Check if the domain is unlocked. If not, just click the switch to unlock it.

## ✉️ Check Your Contact Details
The transfer sends important emails. Make sure your email is right:
1. Go to **Contact information** and click **Edit**.
2. Make sure the **Registrant** and **Admin** emails are up to date. They should be working emails. It’s good if they are the same.
3. Update if needed.

## Get Your Transfer Code
To shift your domain, you’ll need a special code from Google:
1. Look for **Domain registration**.
2. Click **Get auth code**. Keep this code safe for later.

## Begin the Move on Squarespace
Now, start the transfer on Squarespace’s end:
1. Go to the **Domains** section of your Squarespace account.
2. Click **Use a domain I own**.
3. Type in the domain you’re moving and proceed.
4. Click **Transfer domain**.
5. Enter the code you got from Google and continue.

## Double-Check Registration Info
On the **Registration** page:
1. Make sure the email listed is correct.
2. Adjust any details if needed. They will update after the transfer is done.
3. Once satisfied, move forward.

## Look at Payment Info
Here, your saved card details should show. If you’re on a free trial, you’ll need to put in card details. Make sure everything’s okay, then move on.

## Step 8: ✅ Go Over Your Order
You’ll see your transfer details. Moving to Squarespace means you’ll pay for an extra year with them. The price depends on your domain’s ending. It might even be free.
1. Check your payment details.
2. See the cost for the extra year.
3. Read and understand the terms.

## Monitor the Transfer’s Progress
Back in the **Domains** section:
1. You should see “Transfer in progress” for your domain.
2. Click on it to refresh and see any updates.

– If it says the domain is still locked, go back to Google and unlock it.
– If the code from Google isn’t working, double-check it and re-enter.

## ⚙️ Peek at DNS Settings (Optional)
While waiting, you can see the domain’s DNS settings in Squarespace:
1. Click **Settings**, then **Domains**.
2. Pick the transferring domain and click **Edit DNS**.
3. You can remove unneeded records or add new ones.

> Remember: If you use this domain for email, don’t touch the MX records.

## ️ Sit Tight
Google should let Squarespace take the domain. If it’s still pending after 15 days, chat with Google.
