# ⚠ Important Notes ⚠
||| If your server does not provide a server pack then it is most likely not compatible with a server and it will not work properly. It is best to choose modpacks that are providing a `Server Pack`. If they are not, you will have to get the modpack files directly from your instance of it on your PC.
|| Please note that nearly any modpack requires at least 4GB RAM to run properly. We have a guide [here](https://help.ggservers.com/en-us/article/what-is-the-ram-memory-and-how-much-do-i-need-for-my-server-chiunv/) explaining the RAM.
|| It is recommended you download via FileZilla a copy of your full server files before starting the process as they will be wiped. [Here](https://help.ggservers.com/en-us/article/how-to-connect-to-your-server-using-filezilla-yl0q5r/) is our guide for using FileZilla.
||| We do not recommend adding extra mods to an already existing modpack as this can cause issues.

# Installing Forge
**The first step is to do a clean install of the Forge version your modpack is running:**
1. Log in to your Multicraft panel [here](https://mc.ggservers.com/site/login) and stop your server.

—
2. Find the `Server Type` option and change it to `Forge` selecting the desired version.

Click `Yes` on the pop-up window to continue the process.

—
3. Click on `Yes` to do a clean install that will **delete all your server files**, then click on `Ok` on the following pop-up window.

||| ATTENTION – Be sure to back up your files using FileZilla before the process as they will be wiped! [Here](https://help.ggservers.com/en-us/article/how-to-connect-to-your-server-using-filezilla-yl0q5r/) is our guide for using FileZilla.
—
4. Start Your Server
You can now start your server with the Forge version you selected.

Now you just installed on the server the Forge version your modpack is running.
||| You can also set up manually Forge, we have a guide for doing so [here](https://help.ggservers.com/en-us/article/custom-forge-installation-1u6gex2/).

# Installing the Modpack Files
Usually, any modpack that is made to run on a server is providing a `Server Pack` on the official page that you can download to get the server files.
||| NOTE: _If the `Server Pack` is not posted on the official page, then this usually means that your modpack is not made to be played on a server, but in single-player._
—
“`
We will use as an example the modpack called RLCraft.
“`
** To install the modpack files you need to:**
1. Go to the official page of the modpack and download the `Server Pack`. In our case, we will go to the [official page](https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/modpacks/rlcraft) of the RLCraft modpack.

—
2. Extract the ZIP file content you just downloaded in a folder on your PC, then log in to your Multicraft pane [here](https://mc.ggservers.com/site/login) and stop your server.

—
3. Use Filezilla to upload all files and folders besides the `libraries` folder (if there is one) to your server root directory.
|| The root directory is the one that contains all other files and folders.

||| [Here](https://help.ggservers.com/en-us/article/how-to-connect-to-your-server-using-filezilla-yl0q5r/) is our guide for using Filezilla.
—
4. Start your server.

Now you just set up manually your modpack on the server.
