How to Create a Server Pack from the Client Modpack Files
![](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/ba33bb39ceb6d800/banner10_1mgbruh.png)
This guide will help you with creating a server pack from the client files.
Modpacks are community-created modifications to Minecraft that alter the gameplay and visual aspects. A modpack contains several individual mods that work together to create a new experience.
You can also create your modpacks by setting up your mods list instead of choosing a pre-existing one.
To set up your server with any modpack, you will have to first create a server pack for it, meaning the files you directly upload to your server to get the modpack working. Keep in mind that the server pack is different from the files found on your client for any modpack.
|| NOTE: You first need to verify that you can run the modpack on your client, even generate a world and play, otherwise the modpack will not work on the server for sure!
||| NOTE: [If the modpack you are using already has a server pack, follow this guide here!](https://help.ggservers.com/en-us/article/how-to-manually-install-a-modpack-on-your-server-10qukvr/)

# How to Create the Server Pack
Now, that you found your client modpack files you can proceed to create the server pack.
You will have to follow the next steps to do so:
1. Create a folder on your PC to put the server pack in. We are going to name it `server_pack`.
![server_pack](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/ba33bb39ceb6d800/1_ec3gbz.png)
—
2. Copy the `mods` and `config` folders from your client modpack files into the `server_pack` folder.
![Local Files](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/ba33bb39ceb6d800/7_125so15.png)
![Server Pack Folder](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/ba33bb39ceb6d800/4_m5kuam.png)
—
3. Some mods generate their structures, scripts, resources, or other folders and those should be added to your server pack besides the ones mentioned above.
So if you find any of the following folders in your local modpack files you will need to paste them too into the `server_pack` folder:
* Scripts
* Resources
* Llibrary
* structures
* Flans
* bluemap
* dynmap
|| Usually, if a folder has the same name as one of the mods from the server you need to paste it into the `server_pack` too. Some examples are the Dynmap, Flan, and Bluemap mods.
—
4. Remove client-side mods from the `mods` folder (like `CustomMainMenu`, `Damage Indicators`, etc.).
||| [Here](https://help.ggservers.com/en-us/article/client-side-mods-1f2zfxl/) is our guide explaining what client-side mods are.
—
5. Remove any config file from the `config` folder for the client-side mods you removed in the last step.
—
6. Verify if your modpack has any world-generation mod, like Biomes O’ Plenty, Botania, or Biome Bundle.
If so, you need to create a new txt file in your `server_pack` folder named `server.properties.txt`, open it, and paste the line below updating it according to the `level-type` your mod needs to generate the proper world. **Then, remove the `.txt` at the end of the file.**
`level-type=biomesoplenty`
![server.properties.txt](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/ba33bb39ceb6d800/2_1rrbf9c.png)
![level-type](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/ba33bb39ceb6d800/3_1eqj1os.png)
![server.properties](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/ba33bb39ceb6d800/2_1posuyq.png)
|| NOTE: Each of the world-generating mods requires a different level type. You need to put the correct one according to the mod you are using.
Those are just some examples of world-generations mods and the `level-type` they need:
* Botania: `level-type=botania-skyblock`
* Biome Bundle: `level-type=OTG`
||| [Here](https://help.ggservers.com/en-us/article/how-to-set-up-and-use-garden-of-glass-mod-skyblock-world-type-on-modded-servers-1rcju8g/) is our guide explaining about the Botania mod, [here](https://help.ggservers.com/en-us/article/how-to-set-up-and-use-biome-bundle-mod-gz8yvf/) the one explaining about the Biome Bundle mod, and [here](https://help.ggservers.com/en-us/article/how-to-set-up-and-use-biomes-o-plenty-mod-1kuwpqm/) the one telling about Biomes O’ Plenty
