How to Add Mods to Your Valheim Server

This guide will help you install mods on your Valheim server.
Mods are a wonderful addition to your Valheim server if you are looking for a more immersive experience. They can add new mechanics, items, textures, etc. to your Valheim server, changing the experience of the vanilla game.

# Where Do You Find Mods
The first step is to find mods that fit your needs and download them. To do so, follow the next steps:
1. Go to the [Valheim section of Nexus](https://www.nexusmods.com/valheim).

2. Search for the desired mod and click on it.

3. Click on `Files`, find your desired version, and click on `Manual Download`.

|| ⚠ **NOTE **⚠: Most of the mods you download from Nexus will come as ZIP or RAR files, and you will have to right-click on them and click on `Extract All` to get the `.dll` mod file.

# How to Set up BepInEx or Valeheim Plus
To be able to run mods on your server, you will have to first set up BepInEx or Valheim Plus on your server.

## BepInEx
BepInEx is a plugin loader that you can add to your Valheim server to be able to run mods.

To install BepInEx on your Velheim server, you need to:
1. Log in to your Valheim game server panel [here](https://amp.ggservers.com).

2. Click on your Valheim instance, then click on `Manage`, and then stop the server.

3. Click on `Configuration`.

4. Click on `SteamCMD and Updates`.

5. Find the `Install BepInEx` section and enable it.

6. Go back, then click on `Console` and click on `Update`.

7. Start your Valheim server by clicking on `Status`, then on `Start`.

Now, you just set up a password for your Valheim server.

## Valheim Plus
Valheim Plus is a mod that aims to improve the gameplay quality of Valheim. This mod already includes BepInEx, so if you set it up, you also set up your plugin loader once with it.

To install Valheim Plus on your server, you need to:

# How to Upload Mods to Your Server
Now that you’ve set up BepInEx or Valheim Plus on your server, you just need to upload your mods.
To do so, follow the next steps:

3. Connect via an SFTP client like WinSCP or FileZilla to your Valheim server.

4. Open the `BepInEx` folder on your server.

5. Upload your mods to the `plugins` folder by dragging them from your PC side-files to your server-side files.

6. Go back to your game server panel and start your Valheim server by clicking on `Status`, then on `Start`.
