{"id":12796,"date":"2020-05-20T08:41:53","date_gmt":"2020-05-20T08:41:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/test2.gginternal.net\/knowledgebase\/article\/how-to-set-up-and-use-magma-plugins-mods-on-1122-1165\/"},"modified":"2020-05-20T08:41:53","modified_gmt":"2020-05-20T08:41:53","slug":"how-to-set-up-and-use-magma-plugins-mods-on-1122-1165","status":"publish","type":"ht_kb","link":"https:\/\/ggservers.com\/knowledgebase\/article\/how-to-set-up-and-use-magma-plugins-mods-on-1122-1165\/","title":{"rendered":"How to Set Up and Use Magma (Plugins &#038; Mods on 1.12.2 &#038; 1.16.5)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ggservers.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/banner10_1mgbruh.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The new server type <code>Magma<\/code> allows you to run both <a href=\"\/en-us\/article\/how-to-install-mods-on-your-server-1bauy2t\/\">mods<\/a> and <a href=\"\/en-us\/article\/how-to-install-plugins-on-your-server-1yxw90a\/\">plugins<\/a> at the same time on a server.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This article should help you with how you can install and use it on your server.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ggservers.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/68747470733a2f2f692e696d677572_1sqjg5b.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u2753 What is Magma \u2753<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>Developed by the <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/magmafoundation\">Magma Foundation<\/a> team, <code>Magma<\/code> is a fork based on Forge and Paper, allowing users to run both Forge mods and Bukkit\/ Spigot plugins at the same time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Magma is also known as <code>Cauldron 1.12<\/code> because of the functionality and easy-to-use similarity with past <a href=\"https:\/\/ggservers.com\/knowledgebase\/article\/how-to-set-up-a-cauldron-164-server-plugins-mods\/\">Cauldron<\/a> versions that were only available for 1.6.4 servers.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>\u26a0 <strong>But be careful!<\/strong> \u26a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Magma is currently providing versions just for Minecraft <strong>1.12.2<\/strong> and <strong>1.16.5<\/strong>!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be sure that all mods and plugins you want to set up are providing a version for the <strong>1.12.2<\/strong> or <strong>1.16.5<\/strong> Minecraft versions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-ht-blocks-messages wp-block-hb-message wp-block-hb-message--withicon is-style-info\">NOTE: Magma is still under development and there may be a compatibility issue between the mods and plugins you add.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">  How to Install Magma  <\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>You can set up Magma into your server right from the start, meaning on a server without any progress or other files, or change your existing modpack to Magma so it will be able to run plugins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">  Installing Magma Alone<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To install Magma on your server from the beginning please do the following steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Log in to your Multicraft panel <a href=\"https:\/\/mc.ggservers.com\/site\/login\">here<\/a> and stop your server.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ggservers.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/1_1ursht6.png\" alt=\"Stop Your Server\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"2\">\n<li>Choose <code>Magma<\/code> as Server Type<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Scroll down until you see the <code>Server Type<\/code> option. Click on the blue box and then, on the Magma version you would like to use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ggservers.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/41_1bl2ut4.png\" alt=\"Choose Magma\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Click on <code>Yes<\/code> when asked if you want to set up your server with Magma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ggservers.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/11_18npl3u.png\" alt=\"Set Up Server\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Click <code>Yes<\/code> when you are asked if you want it to be a <strong>clean install<\/strong>.
