{"id":12784,"date":"2020-07-09T11:11:05","date_gmt":"2020-07-09T11:11:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/test2.gginternal.net\/knowledgebase\/article\/how-to-manually-install-a-modpack-on-your-server2\/"},"modified":"2025-01-06T12:18:28","modified_gmt":"2025-01-06T12:18:28","slug":"how-to-manually-install-a-modpack-on-your-server2","status":"publish","type":"ht_kb","link":"https:\/\/ggservers.com\/knowledgebase\/article\/how-to-manually-install-a-modpack-on-your-server2\/","title":{"rendered":"How to Manually Install a Modpack on Your Server 2"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>This article will show you how to install a modpack on your server.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">  Overview  <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To understand better let&#8217;s have a look at a modpack, Rougelike Adventures and Dungeons (RAD) for example:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ggservers.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/modpack_1c845yx.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>A modpack usually comes with its own forge.jar as you can see in the image above this particular modpack is named &#8220;forge-1.12.2-14.23.5.2838-universal&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2714\ufe0f We recommend installing files with <a href=\"https:\/\/ggservers.com\/knowledgebase\/article\/how-to-connect-to-your-server-using-filezilla\/\">Filezilla<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"> \ufe0f Forge Installation  \ufe0f<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To have fewer files when you start installing it&#8217;s better to perform a <a href=\"https:\/\/ggservers.com\/knowledgebase\/article\/how-to-install-any-server-type-clean-installation\/\">clean install<\/a> to forge. After that, the server should look something like this:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ggservers.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/filezilla2_6mbimw.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-ht-blocks-messages wp-block-hb-message wp-block-hb-message--withicon is-style-success\">It&#8217;s easier with Filezilla because on the left side you have the modpack, on right side, the server files. Then just drag and drop them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Stop the server<\/strong> and delete everything inside the &#8220;jar&#8221; folder:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ggservers.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/jarfolder_1k0e83l.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"2\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Place inside the jar folder, the modpack files: forge.jar, libraries folder and minecraft_server.jar, In this case, forge-1.12.2-14.23.5.2838-universal.jar, minecraft_server.1.12.2.jar and libraries folder.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ggservers.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/dragdrop2_1m981sj.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"3\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Rename the forge.jar as you wish, after rename the server type from your Multicraft Panel then click on save, for example:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ggservers.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/rename_1pirjyp.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-ht-blocks-messages wp-block-hb-message wp-block-hb-message--withicon is-style-info\">If you don&#8217;t see Forge and Minecraft server jars in the modpack, you&#8217;ll <a href=\"https:\/\/ggservers.com\/knowledgebase\/article\/how-to-install-any-server-type-clean-installation\/\">need to use the Multicraft Panel to install Forge<\/a> (select Forge &lt;version&gt; from the list), or to install it manually. <a href=\"https:\/\/ggservers.com\/knowledgebase\/article\/how-to-set-up-a-custom-forge-version\/\">See here<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"> \ufe0f Mods Installation  \ufe0f<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Mods usually come with their config files, scripts, sand tructures, to install, just drag and drop them on the server:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Overwrite the server.properties if needed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ggservers.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/otherfiles2_zu7w7t.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Make sure to not drop them over a folder.
