
This guide will show you how to properly add more RAM to your Minecraft client.
||| Please note that to be able to assign more than 1GB RAM to Minecraft you need to install the 64bit version of Java into your PC which can be found [here](https://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp).

# Normal Minecraft Launcher
To assign more RAM to the default Minecraft launcher, you need to do the following:
1. Open your Minecraft launcher and click on the `Installations` tab.

2. Select the one you want to change the amount of RAM for, click on the `…` button and then on `Edit`.

3. Click on `MORE OPTIONS` and change under `JVM ARGUMENT` the first number found after `-Xmx` to the amount of RAM you want, then save.

For example, to assign 6GB RAM it will look like the following:

# CurseForge Launcher
To assign more RAM to the CurseForge launcher, you need to do the following:
1. Open your CurseForge launcher and click on the Settings icon from the launcher, down on the right side.

2. Click on `Minecraft`, then scroll down until you see `Java Settings` and change the `Allocated Memory` to the amount you want

# FTB Launcher
To assign more RAM to the FTB launcher, you need to do the following:
1. Open your FTB launcher and click on the `My Modpacks` tab.

2. Select the one you want to change the amount of RAM for, click on the `…` button.

3. Click on `Settings` and change the `INSTANCE MEMORY` to the desired value.

# AT Launcher
To assign more RAM to the AT Launcher, you need to do the following:
1. Open your AT Launcher and click on the `Settings` tab.

2. Click on the `Java/Minecraft` tab above, then find `Maximum Memory/Ram` and change it to the amount of RAM you want in MB, not GB.

3. Click on `Save`.

# Technic Launcher
To assign more RAM to the Technic launcher, you need to do the following:
1. Open your Technic launcher and click on the `Launcher Options` tab.

2. Click on the `JAVA SETTINGS` tab and change the `Memory` to the amount you want.

# Void Launcher
To assign more RAM to the Void launcher, you need to do the following:
1. Open your Void launcher and click on the `Options` tab.

2. Find `MINECRAFT OPTIONS` and change the `MEMORY SIZE ALLOCATED TO MINECRAFT:` to the amount you want.
