Modded Minecraft Pack Suggestions for Players Who Love Quests, Create, Chaos & Cooking

If you and your partner are looking for a modded Minecraft pack with:

  • Expansive questlines for progression and sense of accomplishment
  • Mods that bring challenging mobs / chaos (like Born in Chaos)
  • Great food and farming (e.g. Farmer’s Delight)
  • Automation, creativity & building (e.g. Create)
  • Possibly space or dimensional content

Here are some packs (and ideas) that come close — and some tips on how to build a custom mix if nothing ticks all the boxes.

🔍 Packs That Match Well

Here are modpacks that align pretty closely with your preferences. None may hit 100% of everything, but several are excellent choices (or good starting points).

ModpackWhat It Does WellWhat It’s Missing / Tradeoffs
Create Chronicles: The Endventure (MC 1.21.1)– Strong use of Create, with automation baked into quest Chapters.
– Food mechanics are part of progression: mods like Farmer’s Delight, etc.
– Bosses + quest-gated content (collecting Ender Eyes, defeating bosses, etc.).
– Offers optional progression to The End; you can play more relaxed or more challenge-focused.
– Might not include Born in Chaos’s style of extreme hostile mob content without added mods.
– Doesn’t seem to have a heavy “space” or sci-fi dimension out of the box.
– Quite a lot of mods: performance might be heavier depending on your hardware.
Dimensional Ascension (Forge 1.19.2)– Very large and ambitious quest setup (400+ quests).
– Multiple dimensions to explore, magic + exploration + combat.
– Has “semi-linear guided progression” so you always have a sense of direction.
– Good challenge and discoveries.
– Possibly older version (1.19.2) which may not always have the newest mod features.
– Might lack some mods you like unless you add them.
– Food game might not be as cooking/farming-rich as a Farmer’s Delight-centered pack.
All Of Farmer’s Delight: Farming Agriculture & Cooking– Very good for food / cooking / farming mechanics.
– You get many of the best Farmer’s Delight addons and kitchen tools.
– Great if food & immersive cooking is a priority.
– Questline: likely light or minimal. If you want lots of structured quest progression, this one may need quests mods added.
– Chaos and challenging mobs may be missing or minimal.
– Space or dimensions probably not a focus.
Born in Chaos Delight (Addon Pack)– This blends Born in Chaos with Farmer’s Delight-style content. So you get both the extra dangerous mobs & better food/cooking mechanics.
– Good middle ground if you want a bit of everything.
– Questlines and structured progression may be limited or not as extensive as some full quest-packs.
– Might need adding quest mods, dimensions, or space content to round things out.

⚙️ A Pack That Could Hit All Your Targets (With Some Modding)

If none of the existing packs satisfies everything you want (quests + Born in Chaos + Farmer’s Delight + Create + space/dimensional content + challenge), you might enjoy building a custom or semi-custom modpack. Here are suggestions for pulling pieces together:

  • Base version: Start with something like Create Chronicles: The Endventure (quest + Create + food) or Dimensional Ascension (big quests + dimensions).
  • Add Born in Chaos: Incorporate this mod for aggressive mobs, bosses, structures etc. It’s well maintained. :contentReference
  • Add Farmer’s Delight + addons: To enhance the food/cooking/farming side.
  • Quest mod system: If the pack doesn’t already have it, include something like FTB Quests, Better Questing, or similar. This gives you the structure.
  • Space / extra dimensions: Mods like Galacticraft, Astro mods, Abyss, Extra Planets, or “dimension” mods can introduce space or sci-fi style islands/planets.
  • Balance & performance: Because combining a lot of mods = more potential conflicts and performance hits. You’ll want to test, disable overlapping content, and pick mod versions that cooperate.

📝 My Recommendation

If I had to pick one pack to start with (with minimal tweaks) and get most of what you want, I’d go with Create Chronicles: The Endventure. It gives you:

  • Good quest structure
  • Strong Create + automation
  • Food mechanics that matter
  • Bosses and challenge

Then add Born in Chaos for more mob-difficulty, and possibly a space/dimension mod if you want another realm or “outer space” flavor. This way you get a tailored experience without building everything from scratch.
